The Scott Spark RC Comp Bike is a cross-country race machine built on the same HMX carbon frame and suspension platform that Scott's elite athletes take to the start line. The geometry hasn't been watered down, the travel numbers haven't changed, and the chassis hasn't been softened to suit a more casual pace. What you're getting here is the Spark RC race architecture — 120mm front and rear, TwinLoc suspension control, a frame designed to translate power into forward motion with minimal waste — paired with a component build that makes the platform genuinely accessible without hollowing out what makes it fast.

Ride it for the first time on a technical XC loop and the frame's character comes through immediately. It's stiff where it needs to be — through the bottom bracket, across the rear triangle — and it rewards a committed pedaling position. The FOX Float Custom rear shock works in direct partnership with Scott's TwinLoc system, a handlebar-mounted lever that lets you move between full travel, reduced travel, and full lockout in a single motion. You don't break your cadence, you don't reach down to the shock body, and you don't lose momentum on transitions between a punchy climb and a rooted descent. That kind of seamless adaptability is what separates a purpose-built XC bike from a trail bike doing double duty.

The FOX 32 Float Rhythm fork handles 120mm of front travel on a 15×110mm thru-axle, keeping the front wheel tracking with intent on loose dirt and rock gardens. A SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain provides a wide enough gear range to handle long elevation gain and steep technical pitches alike — it won't feel out of place on a race-format course or a demanding weekend trail loop. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes round out the control package, offering reliable modulation when your legs are already deep in the red and descending demands your full attention. Throughout, the Syncros finishing kit ties the build together: bar, stem, saddle, and wheels spec'd as a cohesive system rather than an afterthought.

Design Benefits

  1. HMX Carbon Race Chassis: Scott's HMX carbon construction delivers a frame that's both lightweight and structurally rigid where it counts. The Spark RC geometry is tuned specifically for XC efficiency — a precise, forward-biased position that keeps you in the power band on sustained climbs and responsive on technical terrain. This isn't a trail frame wearing XC clothing; it's designed from the ground up for competitive cross-country riding.
  2. TwinLoc Suspension Control: TwinLoc is the defining feature of the Spark RC platform. A single lever at the bar cycles through full travel, reduced-travel support mode, and complete lockout — simultaneously managing both the rear shock and fork. The result is a bike that can behave like a hardtail on a fire road climb and open fully for a rough descent, all without interrupting your riding. It's a practical system that removes decisions and keeps you moving.
  3. FOX Suspension Front and Rear: Pairing the FOX Float Custom rear shock with the FOX 32 Float Rhythm fork gives the Spark RC Comp a suspension package with genuine pedigree. Both units are designed to work within the demands of XC geometry and travel, providing consistent damping across varied trail surfaces. The 15×110mm axle on the fork adds front-end stiffness that translates directly into more precise steering on loose or rooted ground.
  4. SRAM NX Eagle 12-Speed Drivetrain: NX Eagle's 12-speed cassette covers a gear range wide enough for the full spectrum of XC terrain — from sustained fireroad climbs to steep, loose switchbacks. It shifts predictably under load, handles high-mileage seasons with reasonable durability, and integrates cleanly with the rest of the drivetrain. For a rider who spends serious time on the bike without chasing the marginal weight savings at the top of the parts hierarchy, it's a sensible and reliable choice.
  5. Cohesive Syncros Finishing Kit: Syncros components are developed in close collaboration with Scott's frame design, meaning the bar width, stem length, saddle profile, and wheel spec are chosen to complement the chassis rather than simply fill slots in a build sheet. The result is a bike that feels intentional from the first pedal stroke — not one that needs an immediate parts audit to ride well.

Final Take

The Spark RC Comp is built for the rider who wants a genuine cross-country race bike — not a versatile trail bike with XC aspirations. If you're racing marathon XC events, chasing personal times on technical singletrack, or simply want a lightweight, efficient platform that rewards effort and precision, the Spark RC architecture delivers it. The component spec is honest and capable, and the frame is the same one that defines the entire lineup above it.

Quality Product, Definitely Recommend
Size: 17.2"L x 3.15"W x 0.78"H, Color: Black Walnut, Size: 17.2"L x 3.15"W x 0.78"H, Color: Black Walnut
Looks and feels great. Amazingly smooth, and well-crafted. It fits the length of my keyboard, and has quality grippers on the base to prevent sliding. Was actually really pleased with it.

High quality solid wood rest
Size: 14.4"L x 3.15"W x 0.78"H, Color: Black Walnut
This wrist rest is nicely finished and was well packed in high-density foam as well as a cardboard box that was wrapped very tightly in thick plastic. It's sanded very, very smooth and is made of beautiful solid walnut, with nonskid pads on the back. The branding is on the side that touches the keyboard, so it is not visible or obtrusive at all. My keyboard is 15.5 inches long, and the 14.4 inch rest looks great up against it. The 0.78" thickness is also very suitable for the thickness of my keyboard. The product gets 5 stars because it is accurately represented and this is entirely down to personal preference, but something about this rest that I don't love is the degree of incline. I have my keyboard up on the kickstands, and the wrist rest that I already owned slopes pretty dramatically starting from the middle, so it follows the angle of the keyboard. The ZQL wrist rest is about 75% flat and then has a small slope that rounds off on the bottom edge. Again, this is very much a personal thing; I just brought it up because it's something that people might not think too much about until they actually use it. I think this rest would be great for anyone with very large hands, or with a flat keyboard. It's taking a little getting used to for me, but I really enjoy the smoothness and obvious quality of the wood. A wrist rest is an ergonomic must when it comes to thicker keyboards.

Nice. I like that the wood feels cool to the touch
Size: 14.4"L x 3.15"W x 0.78"H, Color: Black Walnut, Size: 14.4"L x 3.15"W x 0.78"H, Color: Black Walnut
A nice little wooden wrist rest. I would suggest not using it as a wrist rest, but use it more as a palm rest, because if you are having pain, putting more pressure on those wrist tendons is not gonna help. Quality of the item is good. My biggest worry about wooden wrist rests is that they'll not be sanded well, or not smooth, and you'll get a sliver or catch your skin on a piece. Second biggest worry is that they will be slippery, and slide around the desk, or just be covered with a coating or finish that is sticky for human skin. I'm happy to say, that this didn't have those issues. Mine is smooth, and made of dense wood. It doesn't feel cheap and made with hollow wood. There are no burs or slivers. It's not lacquered or sticky for your hands. It doesn't stain my hands when in use. And it has rubber feet to help grip, so it doesn't slide around. One benefit to having a wood wrist rest, is that it stays "cool" to the touch longer than cloth or gel pads. But, at the same time, one heated, it takes longer to cool back down. I've found that I quite like the cool sensation that is unique to wood. I'm happy with it and the overall quality.

Great looking wrist rest but lacks strong grip
The walnut wood looks and feels great and gives my desk setup a more premium look. The dimensions are as described on the product page. I have no doubt this wrist rest will last a long time given how solid and well made it is. The only downside is that it tends to move around a bit more than my old silicon wrist rest. The grip on the bottom isn’t as strong so I find myself readjusting it occasionally when gaming. Overall, recommended.

Very classy looking! Perfect height and length for TKL keyboards!
This wrist rest is the perfect height and length for my TKL keyboards! The wood is soft and smooth. It looks VERY classy compared to some of the wrist rests I've used in the past. The non-slip pads work great too. The only thing I could find that was wrong is that the logo is upside down. It's not visible though because it's the edge that meets the keyboard so it's never seen. I find it endearing actually! Everything else is perfect, so I'd definitely recommend!
